A clear identity, a real story.
I go beyond tourist places to find real people, difficult roads and stories rarely told in Tamil.
I am Bhuvani, from Thanjavur. Before any of this, I was a video editor working online. In 2018 I left that behind to see whether a person from a Tamil town could really travel the world, and tell it back home in his own language.
I started in Tamil because the people who raised me deserved to see the world in a language that was theirs. Not a translated version of someone else's travel, but the real thing, explained simply.
Over time the travel changed. I found I was less interested in the places everyone films, and more in the ones they avoid: restricted regions, remote highland communities, long train lines across empty country, borders that take days to cross. The difficulty is not the point, but it is often where the honest story is.
What I want an audience to understand is that the world is far more welcoming, and far more complicated, than the headlines suggest. A stranger with tea is the rule, not the exception. That is the thing worth carrying home.
